Wake up!

There is a house for me near the farthest mosque*

The Chosen, choose for me

BUT I lost it to lies

So wake up! Wake up!

And turn your face to the Chosen

For. these children**became

Elders before the break of dawn.

Enough sleeping!

Enough dreaming!

For the night has cleared

And the dawn has glowed

And the figs and olives have ripened

So wake up! Wake. up!

And turn your face to the Chosen

For those children became

Elders before the break of dawn.

Seventy five years and more

And the sweetheart is heartbroken

And the childhood friend is

Waiting for a traveler who promised her to come back

And to love her forever.

So wake up! Wake up!

For these children became

Elders before the break of dawn

  • the farthest mosque is referred it as Al-Aqsa mosque in Arabic (مسجد الاقصي)

**children refers to the Palestinian children living under the Israeli occupation.
